Each Sunday, we gather in the main church sanctuary to hear the Word of God
and to come to God’s Table together.

We each come as we are to find God’s presence in our lives, bringing our strengths and our weaknesses — noisy babies and sober adults, teens with spiked hair and corporate leaders, gay and straight, rich and poor, recent immigrants and longtime residents: together, we are the body of Christ. EVERYONE is welcome.
As you enter the door you will be greeted by members of the congregation
and handed a worship booklet that contains the music and
prayers of the service printed out for you to follow. You may sit anywhere:
parents with children should sit up front close to the liturgical
action. The leaflet refers to two books sitting in racks in front of your
seat: The Book of Common Prayer
the Episcopal prayer book, and The Hymnal.
We are a liturgical church, which means we use set texts for our prayers and statements
of belief. Our texts are found in The Book of Common Prayer and the Bible.
Our specific form of worship takes its shape from scriptures and from what we
know of the worship of the earliest Christian communities.
WThe first part of our service, called the Liturgy of the Word, includes readings from scripture, prayers, and, most often, a recitation of our statement of belief. A sermon based on the text of one of the day’s readings or on a contemporary issue is also part of the Liturgy of the Word. The congregation is asked to respond and to read some prayers aloud together. You can join in or sit and listen as you prefer.
The second part of the service, the Liturgy of Communion, begins with a prayer over the bread and wine, to us the body and blood of Christ. Everyone is then invited to come forward to the altar to receive communion. Children of all ages are welcome (read more about children and communion here), as are all adults seeking Christ’s presence. If you don’t know what to do, the person who gives you the bread and wine will quietly show you.
Each Sunday after services we linger on the patio outside the church to catch up on each other’s lives. It can feel hard to meet people in the beginning! At the Visitor’s Table people are waiting to meet you. They will introduce you to people who share your interests and help you make new friends.
