the communion of saints is alive today

baptism

The sacrament of baptism welcomes people of all ages into the Christian church - Christ’s body on earth. It is therefore the most transformational act in a person’s spiritual life. We take joy in celebrating this special event on significant days during our Sunday morning worship when our whole community can welcome the newly baptized into our midst: All Saint’s Day, Jesus’ baptism, Easter, and Pentecost.

preparation for baptism

When you decide to be baptized at Our Saviour, a member of our clergy will meet with parents, godparents, and older children to help everyone get ready for the special day. They will get to know your family better and offer instruction and support. During these meetings you will also be taken through the service so that you know exactly what to do on Sunday morning. This is also a time for you to explore your own questions.

We understand that when parents baptize a child they are making a challenging commitment. We want to support your family in developing a joyful and active spiritual life with us. Clergy are always available to you to explore what it means to raise a child in the Christian faith. We also offer many adult and family programs to enrich your lives.

To have a member of the clergy staff contact you about baptism, contact our church office at 626/282-5147 or email our church office at cos@churchofoursaviour.org.
