Sharing Our History Seminar
This past Saturday, Interim Rector Fr. Bob Honeychurch and four members of the Parish Profile Committee (PPC) met with clergy, vestry, and parishioners at the first of two seminars designed to engage and move Church of Our Saviour closer to the permanent rector search. Fr. Bob Honeychurch lead Saturday’s seminar: Sharing Our History Day, which encouraged all in attendance to share their stories and personal history and involvement with our storied parish.
Parish Profile Committee chair Paul Kilian attended and was pleased with both the turnout as well as the content of the seminar discussion. According to Paul, “Fr. Bob’s focus was on drawing out people’s personal experiences in terms of their own history with the church and how that influenced their participation, their feelings for and support of the Church, and their hopes for the Church moving forward.”
The format included small group discussions as well as large group exchanges. The small groups were continually mixed up in membership so that sharing experiences was different each time. The seminar was followed by a lunch with Green Street salads and other delectables.
This coming Saturday, July 21, the second seminar, led by Tom Shenk, will take place in Cleaver Hall from 10am to noon. The theme of the second seminar will be What We Do Well and Beyond.
Once again, lunch will be served following the seminar. All are encouraged to attend. Please email Paul Kilian (email@example.com) and let him know you will attend, so that there is an accurate count for lunch.
