Beginning this Sunday, July 1, and continuing on the first Sundays of the month in August and September, all of our worshiping congregations are invited to worship in a space outside of our usual and customary surroundings. On July 1 (and again on September 2) the English-language and Chinese-language congregations will be “trading spaces”, with the English-language worship at 8 and 10 a.m. in Grace Chapel, and the Chinese-language worship at 10 a.m. in the main church. On the first Sunday of August (8/5) we will be having “mass on the grass” (or more accurately “mass on the patio”) in and around Cleaver Hall with our regular English-language service at 8 a.m., and a bi-lingual (English and Chinese) service at 10 a.m.
Why these changes? Well, there are several reasons. First, it’s important to be reminded that Church of Our Saviour doesn’t take the summer off, so we create these unique worship services as an opportunity gather in a slightly different way. But even more importantly, we do so to be reminded that, as we experience God through our worship, doing so in a different setting allows us to broaden and deepen our encounter with God in the process.
So come be a part of the Church of Our Saviour in these special ways during our summer months. Perhaps you will come to see yourself, your community, and God in a whole new light.
